“Scarecrow” is the eleventh episode of the first season of Friday the 13th: The Series, following antique hunters Micki Foster and Ryan Dallion to a small, rural farming community. During their investigation, Ryan forms a close protective bond with a young local boy named Jordy, whose father was the scarecrow’s most recent victim. While occult expert Jack Marshak is away in Singapore, the cousins investigate a string of mysterious harvest-time beheadings linked to a cursed antique. They discover that the town’s prosperity relies on a supernatural scarecrow that comes to life to murder three sacrificial victims each year in exchange for a perfect crop yield.
The tension escalates when Micki and Ryan uncover that the local innkeeper, Marge Longacre, is the keeper of the cursed artifact and has designated Micki as the final sacrifice of the season. The scarecrow operates via a deadly mechanic: pinning a victim’s photograph to its chest sends the creature off with its scythe to claim their head. In a frantic climax at the farmhouse, Marge reveals her maniacal nature, attacking the protagonists to complete the ritual. However, the tables turn when the cursed scarecrow turns on its master, brutally killing Marge instead, which allows Micki and Ryan to secure the object and protect the surviving townspeople.
