Movie Review: Gekko Kamen (1981)

I finally got to see this film from 1981 and it disappointed me. I watch the frirst part of the old version and I loved that. This one is from 1981 and it had enough action to satisfy a five year old at that time but not in 1981 or 2026. It was stale. It had a slightly different storyline and at the end we see some tragedies.

We never saw Kamen’s face or know who he really was. At least from what I saw. The lead police officer was annoying and miserable. Everything bothered him. He was irritable and angry. He was one of the lead actors and he was a great character minus the misery and contributed greatly to the film.

I think the sister of the Kamen was beautiful but died a tragic end unfortunately. She let her guard down and lead her leader to an easy avenue to kill her after she nearly killed him but declined. Who was this rider really? He was like Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, taking a commission. I’ll try to see the black and white version in its entirety, hopefully one day soon and provide a full review.
