Brooke Burns joined the series in season 9 as Jessie Owens, a clumsy but talented rookie who initially struggled to fit in. Jessie’s character provided much of the show’s lighthearted moments while also proving her mettle during high-stakes ocean rescues.

Burns was a primary lead during the show’s move to Hawaii, staying with the series until season 10. Her portrayal of Jessie helped bridge the gap between the original Los Angeles cast and the new Hawaiian setting.
