I thought that The Twilight Zone was supposed to be a scary show, a dark programme with dark twists and plots but this show has gotten to become a show about sad stories, sad and heartwarming tales.

We see in this episode that a young girl, no more than ten, was born in Germany in the early 1950s was trained to be a psychic, a medium with the ability to conceive thoughts but never to speak. Her parents died in a fire when she was young and she grew up for several weeks in a small town in America.

She refused to speak, she was trained to become a medium, and she spent the first few weeeks with a middle aged couple and she was sent to school with a rough teacher. But was she really a medium or psychic?

I saw no evidence of that, just a shy young girl who realized or eventually made people realize she could talk and she did, very well. She said her name in an American twang and the people who wanted her left her with a couple who lost a child like her many years ago. Now they have her and raise her, out of the Twilight Zone.
